Provincial Games are exciting, empowering, and frequently life-changing experiences. Itís impossible to see Special Olympics Games and not be inspired by the sportsmanship, determination, abilities, and joy of the athletes and their dedicated volunteer coaches. Special Olympics Games put our athletes in the spotlight to show all that they can do.

The 2017 Special Olympics BC Summer Games will be will be hosted in Kamloops on July 6 to 8, and will be the largest Provincial Games to date. Nearly 1,300 athletes from all over the province and the Yukon will compete with determination and pride in the 11 SOBC summer sports: 5-pin bowling, 10-pin bowling, athletics (track and field), basketball, bocce, golf, rhythmic gymnastics, powerlifting, soccer, softball, and swimming.

The competitors will also be chasing the opportunity to advance to national and international levels of competition. Top performers in Kamloops will qualify for spots on Team BC for the 2018 Special Olympics Canada Summer Games in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. Out east, the participants will compete to advance to the 2019 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Abu Dhabi.

1. DONATE

Draft an athlete in any sport for $500 and you will help fund an athlete's travel, accommodation, meals, and competition costs. 2. CHANGE A LIFE

Your donation will allow athletes to receive the full Games experience, including an athletesí village, opening and closing ceremonies, high-calibre athletic venues and qualified officials. Each athlete will also have access to social events and the Healthy Athletes clinic, where they will receive free health screenings to help them connect with important care and support. This experience will create lasting memories and have a positive impact on the lives of each athlete long after the 2017 Special Olympics BC Summer Games have come to a close.

3. ENJOY

Draft donors will receive:
- A brief bio of and a personalized note from your drafted athlete or team
- a charitable tax receipt (if applicable)
- an invitation to attend the Games competition events
